Place a Cat

The decision to give up a pet cat can be heart-wrenching. If you are unable to continue to care for your cat or to provide for your cat in the event of your death, it may be possible, with a donation toward the cat's lifetime of care, for your cat to find a home at the Sanctuary.

But ask yourself these questions to determine whether you truly need to give up your cat.

  • What is the primary reason I am considering giving up my cat?
  • Is there anything I can do to change this circumstance and continue to provide a secure home for my pet?
  • Do I have any friends or relatives who could provide a secure home for my cat?

Should you decide you would like to place your cat at our Sanctuary, we will review your cat's medical records to make sure your cat will adjust to our cage-free environment. If we agree to accept your cat, we require a $5,000 donation to offset the cost of providing it lifetime care.

If you have a special needs cat, such as one with feline leukemia (FeLV) or feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), we require a donation of $5,000 if we decide to accept the cat to help offset the cost of care and medicine.

If you would like to make an arrangement with Love and Hope for the care of your cat after your death, we require a donation of $10,000, if we accept it for lifetime care. You can designate Love and Hope Animal Sanctuary Inc., a beneficiary in your will or of a $10,000 life insurance policy.
